As little as one hour
Volunteer
You don't need to read music, know anyone on the board, or commit to a full evening. There are ways to help on site at concerts and off site on your own time — even just one hour at a time makes a difference.
At the concerts
Concert-night helpers
Every one of these is a simple, friendly job — most take an hour or less, and we'll show you exactly what to do.
Welcome the audience
Give a brief SMA welcome/announcement at the start of the concert using a provided script.
Hand out programs
Greet concertgoers and distribute programs before the concert begins.
Collect donations
Staff the SMA donation box before and/or after the concert.
Collect program folders
Gather programs and folders as the audience leaves after the concert.
Help with SMA merchandise
Support t-shirt sales and yard signs at concerts and events.
Beyond the concert night
Help on your own schedule
Prefer to help off site or at another time? These roles flex around your availability.
Fundraisers
Help with fundraiser collaboration, bring connections, and support the fundraiser.
Committee roles
Join a committee or run for an officer position in the spring.
One-off help
Tell us your availability and we'll match you to the next need — even off-site tasks you can do from home.
Ready when you are
Tell us a little about yourself and we'll be in touch.
Your name, your student's ensemble, and an email or phone number are required so we can get back to you — everything else is optional. Don't have a student in the district? Just check the community member box and the ensemble question becomes optional.
